Avian Health
Avian diseases, such as high pathogenicity avian influenza (HPAI), pose a continuous threat to the global egg industry and wider food supply chain.
The IEC is committed to showcasing best practices in biosecurity, and raising awareness and understanding of the latest global developments in avian influenza vaccination and surveillance.
We help give a voice to our industry on the topic of avian health, primarily through conversations and continued relationship building with the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH).
Excellent biosecurity is proven to be the most critical tool in helping to prevent a wide range of avian disease problems and can even help egg businesses avoid infection during severe avian influenza outbreaks.
Considerations are also now being made to including vaccination as an additional tool against HPAI.
